The ‘bambino’ of the Lamborghini family, the Gallardo became the marque’s best-seller during its 11-year lifetime up to 2014, when the Huracan took its place.. It sat alongside the marque’s most powerful V12 models, offering a less extreme option with V10 power but keeping the marque’s proven rear-wheel drive system. A six-speed manual or automated manual were the gearboxes offered. In the latter, the driver could switch between selecting the ratios themselves, or letting the car’s electronics do the work.
